ISSPP scientific journal

Founded in 2016, Pleura and Peritoneum is the official open-access journal of the ISSPP, published by De Gruyter (Berlin/Boston). It is an international, peer-reviewed journal indexed in PubMed and Scopus.

Pleura and Peritoneum is the only scientific journal worldwide exclusively dedicated to the organs pleura and peritoneum, providing a unique interdisciplinary platform for basic scientists and clinicians. The journal focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pleural and peritoneal diseases and publishes reviews, recommendations, educational articles, and original research, with a special emphasis on surgical imaging and VATS.

In 2024 (published in 2025), the journal received its first Science Citation Index Impact Factor. The 2024 Impact Factor is 2.4, with a 5-year Impact Factor of 2.18.

In 2026, Pleura and Peritoneum proudly celebrates its 10-year anniversary, marking a decade of dedicated scientific advancement in pleural and peritoneal research
